DAY 7. Landmannalaugar, return to Reykjavik.
This route passes through the most pristine corners of the island, offering a unique opportunity to see volcanic landscapes, high-mountain lakes, and thermal springs. The first stop is at a viewpoint from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Hekla volcano, one of the most active volcanoes in Iceland. You will learn about its history of eruptions and feel the power of nature. Stop at the crystal-clear Frostastaðavatn lake, surrounded by mountains. This is the perfect place to enjoy the peace of nature. Next, you will see the crater lake Ljótipollur, formed as a result of volcanic activity. The water in the lake has an unusual turquoise color, and the surrounding landscapes are captivating in their beauty. The last stop is the Landmannalaugar geothermal area. Here you can walk along numerous trails, admiring the colorful rhyolite mountains and thermal springs. After the walk, you can relax in a natural hot spring.
